Our pastor

Pastor Maurice Hughes is a husband, father, pastor, and speaker who positively impacts peoples lives through ministry, prayer, and service.

Pastor Hughes was educated in the Milwaukee Public School system, graduating from Milwaukee Tech and Trade High School with dual degrees in General Education and Architecture. He then continued his education to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

After accepting the call God placed on his life, he was ordained an Elder in the Church Of God In Christ. Since that time, Pastor Hughes has served in several capacities in Wisconsin Northwest Jurisdiction COGIC under Bishop C.H. McClelland, including Jurisdictional Executive Secretary.

Pastor Hughes is also the Founder and President of Milwaukee Community Resources and Empowerment Services, a 501(c)3 non-profit that is focused on empowering youth, women, men, and families through education and resources; to improve their health, well-being, economic condition, and overall quality of life.

Pastor Hughes is married to the love of his life, Afrika Hughes, and together they are parents to Diyonna, Maurice Jr., Kennedy, and Christian, and grandparents to Jiyelle.
